Six Tips for a More Productive Workday

Here are my top 6 tips for a more productive workday:

1. Start each day by outlining your priorities - Thoughtfully outline your agenda and priorities for the day before jumping into your emails, etc.

2. "Eat a frog" - tackle your most dreaded task first, when you are still energized and fresh. Doesn't it feel good to cross that off your list?

3. Write it down - don't waste your precious brainpower trying to memorize everything. Jot down notes, to-do lists, reminders so you can come back to them later.

4. Set alarms and take breaks - budget 30-45 minutes for one task, then take a 10-minute break to refresh and refocus.

5. Single-task - research has shown that multitasking increases errors and can double the time it takes to complete each task. Focus on one thing at a time for ultimate efficiency.

6. Plan for tomorrow - spend the last 5 minutes of your day creating a to-do list for the next day, divided by immediate tasks and ongoing projects. Doing this will help set your tomorrow self up for success!
